Decor Idea: Flags

With the fourth of July right around the corner, it seems like flags and flag decor are EVERYWHERE! I think they're adorable for baby showers, kids birthday parties, and of course more casual weddings.

Earlier this week I saw these adorable flag save the date free downloads on WeddingChicks.com. I'd love it if the ladies made them even more customizable so they could be used for non-wedding events (hint, hint!).

I love these inexpensive eco-friendly garland banners featured on DailyCandy earlier this week by Hip Hip Hooray - they come in a variety of colors -- good for a child's birthday party or even a bridal shower. They're meant to be used over and over again as they're made from recyclable, high-density fibers and are printed with water-based inks (even rain safe!).

For a homemade touch, I love fabric flags -- such as this one below from a baby shower I hosted. I thankfully have a mother who is skilled with a sewing machine and has a very vast collection of vintage fabrics (thanks to Karina Marie Diaz for the photo!).

You can find very similar looking fabric banners on etsy.com (I searched for "fabric flags") -- here's a scalloped pink one that I love from SparklePower.

What party wouldn't be complete without cupcakes? I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly from Blue Ribbon Design at last year's stationery show, and I loved these little pattered cupcake flags she had in her booth. Her secret? Make them from scraps, so each one is truly unique. Her letterpress invitations, stationery and other products are adorable too.
