Bouncing Ball Party Featured on Hostess with the Mostess!

colorful first birthday party ideasI've always been a huge fan of the great entertaining site, Hostess with the Mostess so I was thrilled when found Jenn chose to featured the recent Bouncing Ball Party I created for a first birthday party for the adorable Miles.

The theme idea came from Miles' mom, Alexis. When I asked her if he had any favorite toys or things she said that he really loved balls - so we found this perfect invitation from TinyPrints. I then asked the gals at Paper and Cake if they could design some stylish party printables around this theme. I love what they came up with, as you'll see in the dessert table labels, the stickers on the whirly pops and more.

The cupcakes were homemade by mom Alexis, and we topped them with cupcake toppers by Sarah and Abraham.

I had a ton of fun creating the "dessert" table for this party. Since it was for a 1 year old (and Miles' older brother Owen's 3 year old friends) we wanted to make sure the food was kid-appropriate. So while we had some candy, we also filled the buffet with goldfish crackers, animal crackers and cheerios. We also used yogurt covered pretzels (and quickly learned how fast they melt - it was a scorcher of a day).

The pinwhirls I designed with Shana from Pinwhirls.com. I showed her the invite, told her our color scheme and she created the perfect paper to make the pinwhirls. The flag banner adorning the front of the dessert buffet are SmartGarlands from Hip Hooray.

The photos were taken by Jen Frase - her website is coming soon. Here are a few links to other parties Jen has shot for me -- paint palette party and hot pink & orange birthday inspiration.

See below for a few more details from the dessert buffet!

  1. Hi Amy!

I am a fan of your site and your work and I just realized that I have never stopped by to say hello!

The bouncy ball party is precious and I wanted to see if I could feature it on P is for Party?! I think the theme is so unique and perfect for a toddler.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

    Fondly,
    Christi
