Here are Stevi's Five Quick Tips for your wedding:
1. Invest in your photography. It is one of the only tangible things you will have after it is all said and done.
2. Don't skimp out on a wedding album. It will become an heirloom that will be passed down for years and years.
3. Consider cinematography even if you're shy. There are some great ones out there that will quietly document your day from behind the scenes if you feel shy in front of the camera.
4. Keep your photographer involved as you develop your timeline. This is a chance for them to help with suggestions about doing portraits during the time of day with the best light. They can also give you an idea of how long pictures will take of just the two of you, your families and your wedding party, if you have one. If you are making a large investment in photography, you want to be sure to leave enough time for photos.
5. Do an engagement session with your photographer before your wedding. It is important to get comfortable with each other in front of the camera and also with your photographer. It may be one of the only times you will get to connect with you photographer in person before the wedding day. Be sure to schedule it well in advance so you aren't feeling stressed during the shoot, if your wedding day is just around the corner. This will also give you a chance to use your engagement photos on your wedding website, save the dates, etc.
We asked Stevi a few questions about her own wedding...
What was your favorite thing about your own wedding?
My favorite thing about our wedding was that it was small and intimate.
If you could change one thing about your wedding, what would it be?
I have two. One thing would be that we would have hired a cinematographer. I would love to be able to sit down and watch a video of our wedding.
The second would be that we would have taken a honeymoon. Two and a half years down the road we still haven't made the time.
Thanks, Stevi, for these great tips!
