Olympic Themed 6th Birthday Party!

When my friend from college Olivia posted pictures to Facebook recently of her daughter Amelia's sixth birthday party, I asked her if I could share them on my blog because I thought it was such a cute idea for a kids' birthday party! Amelia requested an Olympic themed birthday party which was celebrated at a park near her parents' home in Brooklyn. What I love about this party is it would be so easy and inexpensive to recreate. Getting ready for the "games", most kids wore red, white, and blue. Headbands were an easy accessory (and great way to group kids into teams). This theme couldn't be more perfect too with the Olympics right around the corner -- and a fun way to get your kids into the Olympic spirit.

Read below for more details and ideas.  Thank you Olivia for letting us share the pictures from Amelia's birthday! (And maybe she'll let me share a pic from her kids' Halloween costumes soon too -- you'll die!!)

Olivia made the Olympic platform cake, complete with torch bearers.

  1. What could be a better theme every time the Olympics happens! But for sure it didn't take you four years to plan this party lol...
