This week's 5 Quick Tips are from Jamie Snively, Entertainment Specialist with Associated Entertainment Consultants.

Jamie has been creating unique events for brides and grooms for several years now, by helping them pick the perfect musical talent for the wedding.  Her passion for event planning, along with her creative and fun ideas, inspired her to start her own blog, For the Love of Events.

Here are Jamie's Five Quick Tips:

1.  Make your wedding, YOU! Your wedding day should be representative of you and your fiancé. Incorporate your favorite food, flowers, colors, and ideas. Honor loved ones and family traditions in an appropriate way.  We had our ring bearers carry pillows that were made by husband's aunt. We asked family members to send us items from their past weddings. The pillows were made of fabric, ribbon, lace and mementos from our loved ones.

2.  If you are going to take your photos during the cocktail hour, request that your caterer save you some of the appetizers and have them delivered to your table during dinner. Most likely, you and your bridal party won't want to miss out on some of the delicious treats you picked out! Appetizers are quick and easy to eat.  Often there is so much going on, you probably aren't going to eat much of your meal anyway.

3.  Happy brides make happy vendors. The saying goes, "you can catch more flies with honey, than with vinegar." Vendors are more likely to make your day extra special if you treat them well.  You will have much more negotiating power and flexibility if you are simply kind and not demanding.

4.  Do the Chicken Dance. It is hilarious and everyone loves it. You will be surprised how packed your dance floor will be!

5.  If you are doing a DIY wedding, start early. You can reduce stress by doing little things one at a time. Don't be afraid to get family and friends involved in the process. Everyone will ask if they can help... let them!

Jamie shares a few thoughts about her own wedding....

Favorite Thing About My Wedding:
How can I choose just one! My dad, the cowboy, was not very happy that I was making him wear a suit. I coordinated with family members a little surprise for him. I arranged for the flower girl to bring him his black cowboy hat about half way through our father-daughter dance. It gave everyone a good laugh, including him. I could feel him instantly relax when I placed his trusty hat on! He didn't take it off all night!

Ok, one more favorite... my photos! We loved taking our photos, which was a surprise. I thought it would be awkward, but it was really nice. Our photographer, Leanne Reis, was like our bodyguard. Josh and I had some great quality time and were extremely relaxed during our portraits.

What I Would've Changed:
Do I have to choose something that I would change?

Thanks for sharing your tips!
