Five Quick Tips with Orange County Wedding Designer, Jesi Haack

Thanks to all of the great wedding blogs out there, I found myself acquainted with Jesi Haack of Jesi Haack Design, based in Southern California. Her work is whimsical and fun, and you can tell why clients are attracted to her great style and aesthetic. I remember seeing one of Jesi's weddings last year that was literally EVERYWHERE. It featured a gorgeous paper flower arch for the ceremony -- take a look on Jesi's blog here.

Here are Jesi's Five Quick Tips for your wedding (I love #5!):

1. Schedule in a LUNCH! That is a huge thing couples forget, then they are starving and falling over at the ceremony. It's actually quite memorable, if that's what you are going for

2. Don't stress about talking to EVERYONE at your wedding. Do your best to make the rounds, but take the time to actually enjoy and participate in your wedding. Your guests can find you on the dance floor.

3. Create your own tradition! If the "tradition" doesn't mean anything to you, DON'T DO IT! It will be a waste of time! Instead, substitute it with something that tells the story of you and your fiance. For example, instead of lighting a unity candle, read each other love letters.

4. Take a private moment, immediately after the ceremony, to celebrate with just the two of you. Walk around the corner or sneak in a back room away from your bridal party for a couple of moments. The day goes so fast and is crazy busy, so it will give you a chance to make sure you connect.

5. TRUST! Trust your vendors with their jobs. You (obviously) hired amazing vendors that you trusted when you hired them, so TRUST them on your wedding day! Then you can completely enjoy the day.

Jesi shares some fond memories from her own wedding....

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
When all of our friends chased us to our limo and started pounding on it as we drove off. It was straight out of a movie scene.

If you could change one thing about your wedding, what would it be?
All of my cheesy decor. I got married before I was a designer. Hilarious, seriously. I actually had red tulle.

Fantastic tips, Jesi!  Thank you for sharing them.
