Want to Work in the Wedding Industry?

Last month, Liene Stevens, the mastermind behind ThinkSplendid (a fantastic business resource for the wedding industry) started a wedding job board and blog. Her new site is not only a great resource for those looking for a job in the wedding industry, but also for wedding industry companies that are looking for good talent. What I love about this site is that it provides great educational info about making yourself an attractive candidate, as well as useful tips on how to land a wedding job.

One tip from me: when emailing the company you want to work for, make sure you refer to the correct company name. One candidate has emailed me not once, but TWICE now telling me how much she wants to work for Amy Atlas Events. My company is Amy Nichols Special Events -- not the best way to make a first impression, right?

Each week we get resumes from candidates who are interested in working for or interning with our company. We respond to all inquiries, regardless of if we're hiring, and try to also provide candidates with information about how they can get started. One of the articles we refer candidates to is this one that I wrote for Style Me Pretty last year. We're also going to start pointing candidates towards the Wedding Job Board.

Thanks, Liene for providing the industry with another valuable resource!
